Thank you to all the staff who were very friendly and helpful. The Breakfasts were very good, with plenty of fruits and cereals to choose from and the cooked breakfast was very good, and nice tasty bacon and sausage, poached eggs cooked just right! Evening Meals were excellent with a good choice on menu. I have allergies and they took great care when preparing my meal, Our room was fine, situated overlooking the garden and the River Tyne which was lovely, comfortable bed and nice and quiet, so slept well. I preferred to have a bath in the room, but we only had a shower, but we managed with that anyway. Overall very pleased with our stay and would stay here again. Shirley and Mike

Food was lovely no fault at all. Lots of choice at breakfast. The rooms were clean but there were (I know a bit petty) but cobwebs in corners and on light flies were in the shade. One main thing that would have been some information in the room, different things about the hotel ie the history of the hotel and places to go and the area whilst visiting. The gardens that had little ponds were all covered in green fungi and if children were running around outside it was very easy for them to fall into. Not a very nice site, a bit of a clean would be nice so show proper water in it. The room needs a bit of tidying up - a little bit drab.

This lovely, grand hotel provided a delightful stay during our trip to Hadrian's Wall. The hotel's impressive exterior and nice decor continued throughout the interior. We were greeted by friendly reception staff who, despite the hotel's busyness, ensured we were able to get a seat in the hotel. The restaurant was a highlight, with its stunning large glass windows overlooking the garden and lake. The food was amazing, and the staff even gave us complimentary drinks to apologize for a forgotten drinks order – a small error that was handled very well. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with a very comfortable bed and a TV.

Room required a bit TLC. Painting decorating etc. Think it would put a lot of people off. Bar, restaurant and reception areas were brilliant. Lovely real fires comfy and relaxing. What made the place though was the staff. Every one of them were so polite, helpful and friendly. Real Northumberland folk!!. Breakfast was a buffet and absolutely outstanding for £10. Full English, toast, cereal, tea coffee, fruit and also made porridge to order. Definitely stay again. 5 Walk on Hadrians Wall. Superb. Once again a massive thanks to all the lovely staff. Company should reward them all.

The hotel is in a beautiful location. I stayed whilst visiting my mum who has recently moved to a nursing home so needed somewhere close to Hexham. The room was fine for the price and I slept really well because it was very quiet. It was also very clean. I enjoyed the breakfast and there was a good range of food. Again, for the price it was good value. The staff were all lovely and very friendly and helpful.
